Save the Honey Bee

Our cousin, Tom Escher, is our founding beekeeper, and he taught his cousins, Jody Harris and Chris Escher, the myriad environmental benefits of culturing twelve buzzing hives of pure pollinating power. Tending to the bees has become quite a family affair.

The bees are a strong asset to our crops and to the surrounding agriculture of the Napa Valley. Over a quarter million of our “coworkers” thrive in our local natural ecosystem. While we have no way to track their every move, we see the bees around the property feasting on roses, berries, clover, dandelion, lavender, rosemary, and thyme. They visit our neighbors as well, growing various wine grapes, and they have access to wild, uncultivated land.

It’s the bee’s job to craft HRNV’s unique and rustic local honey. We can’t claim that it’s certified organic – our bees are free to stray off of our 25 acres across the Napa Valley as they please. We can promise, however, that we don’t use pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides anywhere on the property. And, our honey is bottled with the seasons, and left pure, raw, and unfiltered.
